Recap for June 20th game against the Hastings Sodbusters 5-2

Hastings, NE- The Moo take a thrilling pitcher’s duel in Game 2 of the 3-game series against the Hastings Sodbusters 5-2. The Moo now move to 12-10 a game back of 1st place in 4th place while the Sodbusters move to 12-8 and tied for 1st place with the Western Nebraska Pioneers.
Hastings would get the scoring started in the 1st with a wild pitch to make it 1-0. It would be scoreless until the 6th when Hastings got their 2nd and only run of the ballgame off a bases-loaded walk. Fremont would come back in the 8th scoring 5 unanswered started by a Nico Azpilcueta single that scored Matt Spear before a bases-loaded walk of Bentley Boekhout scored Hayden Lewis. A single by Zech Samayoa scored Dodge and Azpilcueta before a single by Spear then scored Boekhout to make it 5-2. Spear went 2-3 with an RBI and R while Samayoa went 1-4 with 2 RBIs.
Ben Higdon got the win for the Moo going 1 2/3 innings allowing no runs and no hits but walking 4 while David Rudd-Grow was charged with the loss for Hastings going 2/3 of an inning giving up 4 runs on 3 hits, walking 3, and striking out 4 in the process. Kai Taylor went 5 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits striking out 9 while Jacob Schroeder went 7 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs on 3 hits striking out 10.
The Moo will take on the Sodbusters for the rubber match of the series tomorrow at 6:35 PM CST at Duncan Field in Hastings, NE before an 11-game homestand starts up on Friday night against the Gem City Bison.
