Richard Register of Fremont has filed paperwork to run for Dodge County attorney.
Dodge County Attorney Paul Vaughan announced in February that he will retire on March 4. Chief Deputy County Attorney Sara Sopinski was chosen Wednesday morning by the board of supervisors to fill out the remainder of his term. Sopinski, a resident of Douglas County, is not planning on running for the elected office.
Register operates the Register Law Office. He has also worked as an adjunct educator for 20 years at Metropolitan Community College, and as a mediator for the Nebraska Justice Center.
