Fremont rural responds to Ames fire

The Fremont Rural Fire Department responded to a call at 3:28 this morning at a residence at 115 Westgate Drive in Ames. 
 
“We found half of the backside of the house was fully involved,” said Marty Jacoby of FRFD. “Family and everybody were out.” 
 
Jacoby said it was fire through the roof that was electrical in nature. Firefighters were on the scene for about five hours. 
 
There were no injuries. The North Bend Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid. Jacoby said the estimated damage is $100,000 with the home a total loss.
