
Las Vegas, Nev. – The Huskers wrapped up the Stormin’ Blue & White Vegas Classic on Monday and finished third overall with a 10-2 record.
Nebraska started the day playing against the sixth seed Maryville. NU won the first game by a score of 218-195. Maryville claimed game two (244-248) and three (203-220). The Huskers bounced back and won games four (222-204) and five (192-183). Maryville struck back to claim game six by a score of 210-226. In game seven, the Huskers secured their victory by a score of 205-193.
The Huskers moved on to play Mount St. Mary in match two. Nebraska started strong with wins in games one (210-188) and two (186-155). Mount St. Mary struck back in game three by a score of 213-234. NU took two final victories in games five (224-150) and six (245-213) to secure their second victory of the day.
NU faced Vanderbilt in the final match of the day to determine their placement. In game one, Nebraska fell to Vanderbilt by a score of 171-211. The Huskers bounced back in games two (224-182), three (269-205), and four (205-186). Nebraska claimed one final victory by a score of 247-209 to claim third place.
Cassidy Ray made the All-Tournament team based on her performance on Sunday. She placed third overall with a total pinfall of 1,090.
Nebraska will return to action on Friday, Jan. 28, when they compete at the Prairie View A&M Invite in Arlington, Texas.
