Edna M. Battiato age 92 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.  She was born August 1, 1929 in Elyria, NE to Louis and Angie (Golka) Ruzowski.
Enda was raised in Elyria and Ord, NE and graduated from Ord High School.  She married Charles L. Battiato on August 19, 1949 in Fremont.  She lived in Lincoln, NE and worked for Golds Department Store.  They came to Fremont in 1964.
Edna was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Patrick Women and former member of the Starlighters Square Dance Club all in Fremont.  She loved to sew and make clothes for her family and was also an avid reader and enjoyed adult coloring.
She is survived by her daughter, Lou (Geoff) Shilton of Kansas City, MO; sons, Thomas (Odeth) Battiato of St. Cloud, Fl, Dean Battiato of Omaha, and John Battiato of Fremont; brother, Leonard Ruzowski of Ord, NE; sister-in-law, Shirley Ruzowski of FL; brother-in-law, Fr. Ronald Battiato of Cedar Bluffs, NE; 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren ad 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brothers, Ernest and Everett Ruzowski; and sisters, Marie, Bernice Cobele, Irene Moravec and Louise Philbrick.
Funeral Mass will be 10 A.M., Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont.          Visitation 5:30 – 7 P.M. Sunday, Jan. 2 with a Rosary at 7 PM all at Moser’s in Fremont. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
