Leola M. Armstrong age 78 of Fremont, Nebraska passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Dunklau Gardens. She was born November 26, 1943 in Langdon, Missouri to Benjamin and Jennie (Davis) Bailey.
Leola grew up at Tarkio, MO and then moved to Sidney, Iowa in 1958. In 1959 she moved to Rockport, MO until moving to Lawrence, Kansas in 1974. She lived also at Auburn, NE, Sheridan, Wyoming, Shenandoah, IA, and western Nebraska before coming to Fremont in 1996. She married Francis J. Armstrong on November 28, 1975 in Auburn, NE. He preceded her in death September 15, 2010.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Post #20 both in Fremont.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanie (Richard) Ploof of Garden City, KS, Nancy (Donald) Whittington of Nebraska City, NE, Pam (Bruce) Daniels of Hamburg, IA, Jenny (Troy) Trask of Cassville, MO, Lori (Kyle) Koerselman of Sherburn, MN and Lisa Indra of Fremont; stepsons, Doug Armstrong of Council Bluffs, IA, Dennis Armstrong of Jenks, OK, and Dan (Tracy) Armstrong of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter-in-law, Kelly Armstrong of Tulsa, OK; 29 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and half-sister, Ruby Trout of Hope, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Gerald Armstrong and Dave Armstrong; brothers, Russell Bailey and Vernon Rask; sister, and brother-in-law, Anna Marie (Kenneth) Clark.
Funeral will be 11 A.M., Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
