Authorities identify victim in fatal crash

The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the man who died as a result of an accident Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 77 north of Fremont.
Anthony Branam, 32, of Villisca, Iowa, was traveling north in a Dodge van when it rear-ended a semi at 3:27 p.m. on Highway 77 near Nickerson. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
The northbound lanes were closed for about three hours. The accident remains under investigation.
