Roel Flores Jr., 24, was sentenced in Dodge County District Court Monday morning to a year in prison for possession of a controlled substance.
Judge Geoffrey Hall sentenced the Fremont man to the Nebraska Department of Corrections. He was given credit for 43 days previously served.
A Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested Flores on April 2 following a traffic stop. During a probable cause search, it was discovered Flores had oxycodone in his possession.
In other court news:
- Anthony S. Deshazer, 28, of Fremont had his jury trial set for Jan. 26-27, 2022. Deshazer has pleaded not guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with evidence, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Denver Johnson, 37, of Fremont was in court for three different cases — all for possession of a controlled substance. There was a motion to revoke Johnson’s probation which he did admit to being in violation of the terms. The court ordered an updated report and scheduled sentencing for Jan. 31. Johnson is expected to go to treatment between now and the sentencing date.
