In high school softball at Chaplains Field, Wednesday, Bellevue East defeated Fremont, 9-3.  Fremont is now 11-4 on the season.
The Midland men’s golf team finished third out of eight teams at the Mid-South Invitational in Newton, Kansas.  The Warriors shot an 881.  Oklahoma City was first at 851.  Ben Ngelingkong and Preston Carbaugh led Midland, tying for third at 215 over the three rounds.
The Midland women’s golf team concluded play in the Peru State College Fall Invite, in Nebraska City, Wednesday.  The Warriors Erin Baum finished tenth, shooting a two round 184.
Midland University women’s soccer traveled to face Williams Woods University on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match. The two sides were locked in a close battle, but the Owls got the best of the Warriors, winning 1-0.
The loss brings the Warriors record to 2-2 on the season, replacing their two-game winning streak with two narrow losses.
Next up for Midland (2-2), is a home match against Kansas Wesleyan (2-2) on Saturday, September 11. First kick is set for 5:00 p.m. at Heedum Field in Fremont.
