Midland University has named Shawn Gilbert as its new women’s golf coach after serving as an interim coach this past spring. Coach Gilbert, who also coaches the Warriors’ women’s basketball team, will now take full control of the program after guiding the Warriors the final few months of their 2020-21 season.
Coach Gilbert returns to the golf coaching ranks after some time away. He was the head boy’s coach at Amherst High School (1994-97) and was the assistant men’s coach at Mount Mercy University (2001-07).
