The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team hosted Gretna Post #216 in a doubleheader last night, at Nick Novak Field.  The visitors would win both games, 8-3 and 4-1 in eight innings.  In game one, Gretna jumped out to a 5-0 lead before First State would get on the board in the six, cutting the lead to 5-2, but could not get any closer.  In game two, heard on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM, both teams were tied at one, going to extra innings.  Gretna would score three unearned runs in the top of the eighth.  First State threatened in the bottom of the inning, loading up the bases, but would be unable to score.  Gretna is 23-8 and will play Grand Island in a doubleheader, Wednesday, at Omaha Skutt.  First State is 12-10 and will host U-Stop (Lincoln East), Wednesday at 4pm, at Nick Novak Field.
Today, the First State Juniors play at Columbus, in a 5pm doubleheader at Pawnee Park.  The First State Reserves also are on the road at Elkhorn High, versus Elkhorn White at 5:30.
The Fremont Moo return to Moller Field tonight, hosting the Hastings Sodbusters.  First pitch is 7:05.  The game will be broadcast on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM with Nate Rohr and Zach Berman on the call.
