Texas man faces forgery charge

A Texas man faces various charges, including first-degree forgery, following an incident on Friday afternoon. 
 
At about 5 p.m., Rafael Patino , 30, of Houston was arrested following a complaint of fraudulent checks being cashed at a business in the 200 block of north Main Street. Patino was one of four men chased by the business owner after he began questioning the men about the validity of the checks.
 
Patino was also charged with criminal impersonation and possession of a forged instrument. 
 
In other police news:
 
Daniel Benitez, 44, of Fremont was arrested at 12:20 Sunday morning on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he was found intoxicated and passed out on the front porch of a residence where he did not belong in the 1300 block of Missouri Avenue. 
 
At about 2 Sunday morning, Kyle W. Langhorst, 31, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 200 block of south Main Street. 
 
At about 9:15 a.m. on Memorial Day, Connor J. Johnson, 23, of Omaha was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop near Luther Road and Morningside Road. 
 
Johnson was also charged with careless driving, possession of an open container of alcohol and refusal to submit to a chemical breath test. 
At about 2:30 Friday afternoon, a two-vehicle personal injury collision occurred at the intersection of First and Bell streets.
The driver of a 2013 Nissan Murano, traveling south on Bell, allegedly violated a red light and struck a 2010 Toyota Corolla traveling east on First. The impact caused the Nissan to go off the roadway and strike a street sign and a residence in the 1200 block of east First Street.
The street sign is valued at $50 and damage to the residence was estimated at $10,000. Both cars involved in the accident were a total loss.
