Track & Field
The Fremont High track and field teams competed in the George Anderson Invite, hosted by Omaha North, at Omaha Benson High school, Thursday. In boys action, Fremont was second with 90 points. Kearney was first with 177. Drew Sellon won the pole vault at 14-8. Braden Taylor won the 800 in 1:53.74, while Tyson Baker was second at 1:56.62. Fremont was 1-2-3 in the 3200 with Nolan Miller first at 9:34.95, followed by Owen Wagner and Carter Waters. Fremont was first in the 4×400 relay at 3:28.60.
In girls action, Fremont was first with 154 points. Kearney was second with 121. Hailey Newell won the pole vault at 10-0. Fremont won the 4×800 relay at 10:14.63. Elli Dahl won the 1600 in 5:07.17. The Tigers won the 4×100 relay in 49.98. Fremont was 1-2 in the 800 with Maris Dahl first at 2:27.35 and Mara Hemmer in second. Tania Gleason won the 200 in 26.15. Emily Nau won the 3200 in 11:54.32. Fremont also won the 4×400 relay in 4:04.99.
Husker Tennis
The Nebraska Women’s tennis fell to Maryland 4-3 in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. The No. 5 seed Huskers lost just its fifth doubles point of the season and were unable to come back in singles play.
