Three Rivers opens vaccinations to 18 and older

The Three Rivers Public Health Department is opening up COVID-19 vaccination eligibility to all individuals 18 and older.

Increasing the age range for the 3RPHD health jurisdiction, serving Dodge, Saunders and Washington counties, is meant to help fill appointments at all of the clinic and pharmacy locations. This also includes all of the jurisdiction’s clinics along with the Three Rivers health partners, including Methodist Fremont Health, Memorial Community Hospital and Health System in Blair and Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo.

The pharmacies in the 3RPHD include: Ashland Pharmacy, Walmart in Blair and Fremont, Fremont Hy-Vee, Medicine Man Pharmacy in North Bend and the Scribner Drugstore.

Individuals can also schedule appointments on the Three Rivers website (www.threeriverspublichealth.org/COVID-19/COVID-19-Updates) as well as at partnering websites. If you do not have access to the Internet or need assistance, call 402-727-5396. Those who are 18 years of age will need to bring a parent or guardian to their appointment.

Three Rivers is not using the state registration portal (www.vaccinate.ne.gov) as it is not functioning fully, but officials hope to use it in the future.
Three Rivers announced Monday that two new cases of the COVID-19 B.1.1.7 variant, also known as the United Kingdom variant, have been identified in Dodge County. Terra Uhing, Three Rivers executive director, said the variant spreads more easily than other strains of the virus, potentially resulting in more cases.
“This reminds us that the pandemic is not over and that we need individuals to stay home when sick, avoid crowds, wear masks in public and seek a COVID-19 vaccine when able,” she said.
Within Dodge County, three cases of the UK variant have been identified. One case of the B.1.429 variant (of California variant) has also been identified.
