State Basketball

Yutan over BRLD, 49-47.
Parkview Christian defeated St. Mary’s, 62-53.
Falls City Sacred Heart downed Humphrey St. Francis, 60-49. I
Howells-Dodge defeated previously unbeaten Burwell, 76-45.
Humphrey/Lindsey Holy Family downed North Platte St. Pat’s 52-39.
In C2, GICC defeated Hartington CC 64-40.

State Basketball: Yutan Wins Battle Over BRLD, Headed to the Championship

Midland

The Midland softball team earned two victories in McPherson, Kansas, yesterday. The Warriors shutout Friends, 6-0 and blanked Presentation, 8-0. The Warriors are 9-2 on the season.

Creighton

Seventeenth-ranked and second-seeded Creighton (19-7) defeated Butler 87-56 and has a date in the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals when it looks for a third victory this season against third-seeded Connecticut (15-6). Tip-off on Friday at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., is set for 8 p.m. Central. The winner of Friday’s Creighton/UConn semifinal will meet the winner of Friday’s 5 p.m. Central semifinal between Georgetown and Seton Hall. Saturday’s title game tips at 5:30 p.m. Central.

UNO

The Omaha volleyball team makes the trip to Fargo, N.D., for a weekend series at North Dakota State this weekend. The Mavericks and Bison take the court on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13 in Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. Friday’s first serve is set for 7 p.m. while Saturday’s match begins at 5 p.m.
