FREMONT – Fremont’s City Administrator, Brian Newton, gave his weekly City News update with Bob Flittie today.
Prior to the regular 7pm City Council meeting Tuesday evening, there will be a Special Council meeting for Mayor Spellerberg to present to council members his goals for the next four years. Newton shared his own comments about that process:
District-15 Senator Lynn Walz priority bill this session is LB-84, which would authorize Expressway funding through the sale of Revenue Bonds. On Monday, City Administrator Brian Newton offered his comments in support of bonding as a tool to get the system built:
And Newton identified reasons that bonding would be beneficial:
With the ice jam gone and water receding from flooded areas and homes, the question of “now what” for those homes that were flooded. Brian Newton said:
And he noted that those homes are subject to flood plain regulations:
