Baseball
No. 22 Oklahoma used a five-run eighth inning to hold off a potential Maverick sweep, as UNO baseball fell 8-5 on Monday afternoon at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, Okla. The loss snaps a seven-game win streak for the Mavericks and drops Omaha to 1-1 on the season.
Basketball
The Blair High boys basketball team began post-season play last night, picking up the win 48-34 over Schuyler. With more, here’s Brian Abrahams:
The Creighton women’s basketball team will return to Omaha with three victories on its four-game road trip as the Bluejays fell at Marquette on Monday, Feb. 22, 65-41. The loss moved Creighton to 7-9 on the season and 6-6 in BIG EAST play, while Marquette moved to 16-4 overall and 13-3 in conference play.
