FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University Esports began their spring 2021 slate of games last week. The Warriors are competing in Hearthstone, Overwatch, and Valorant this semester with competition in both the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC).
Hearthstone
Midland is 0-2 in Hearthstone play in the NACE. They opened with a 1-0 loss to Randolph Macon and a 1-0 loss to Spring Hill College. In NECC play, they lost 3-0 to King’s College.
This week they’ll take on Wayland Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in NACE. On Friday, they’ll face King’s College again at 6:30 p.m. in NECC play.
Valorant
This semester Valorant will be played on Wednesday in the NECC. The Warriors began their 2021 campaign with a 2-0 loss to Bryan College in week one. They’ll be back at it at 8:00 p.m. on February 17 when they face Sacramento State University.
Overwatch
The Warriors opened with a 2-1 win over Johnson & Wales University-Providence last Thursday. They’ll look to build upon the victory against the University of California-Santa Cruz at 8:30 p.m. this coming Thursday, February 18.
