Risk Dial
The Three Rivers Public Health Risk Dial for Dodge County stayed the same at 2.57 this week (mid-orange). As a reminder, the Dial utilizes eight data points on a rolling three-week average.
Superintendent of Schools, Mark Shepard, commented on the risk dial and getting teachers vaccinated during his interview on KHUB’s morning show on Thursday, February 11.
Winter Weather
The unpredictable winter weather is upon us. Fremont Public Schools does not utilize late starts based on feedback we’ve received from parents in the past. The decision to have school or not have school due to inclement weather is made as early as possible, oftentimes the night before. Unless you hear an announcement through Remind, local radio, and television stations that schools are closed, you know school will be open.
If you, as a parent, feel that inclement weather conditions threaten your child’s safety and schools remain open, you can keep your child at home. The absence of children in inclement weather will be considered the same as any absence for legitimate reasons, providing proper parental notice is given to the school.
Shepard shared some “trigger points” that FPS Administration looks at when deciding to close schools due to weather conditions.
