3RPHD Holiday and Vaccine Update

FREMONT – Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) would like to wish each and every one of you Happy Holidays. We hope your holiday season is full of love and laughter. Due to Christmas, 3RPHD will be closed Thursday, December 24th, and Friday, December 25th in observance of the holiday. We will not have staff working on Christmas day so that our staff may enjoy the holiday. We will resume working with a limited staff on Saturday, December 26th.
Yesterday, December 21, 2020, we received our first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. We are working through a phased approach following guidance from DHHS with different tiers for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. Phase 1A, tier 1 and 2 includes health care personnel providing care and treatment to COVID-19 patients, emergency medical services (EMS), and staff and residents of long-term care facilities.

“We have been planning with our hospital partners and Ashland Pharmacy for the vaccine to arrive and are working with them to administer the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as we had doses become available. It is a very exciting time and a very fluid situation,” said Terra Uhing, Executive Director at Three Rivers Public Health Department.
The vaccine is not yet available to the general public, however, we are working with community partners on locations for public vaccination clinics once the COVID-19 vaccine is more widely available. Please be patient, while we work through the different phases.
3RPHD reminds you that even when the vaccine becomes widely available, we will still need to practice excellent hand hygiene, wear masks, and avoid crowds until the transmission rates come down.
Sadly, we are reporting one new death related to COVID-19. A female, Washington County resident in her 80s. This brings our total death count to 55 deaths in Dodge County, 13 deaths in Saunders, and 16 deaths in Washington County for a total of 84 deaths in the 3RPHD health district.
As a reminder, our data dashboard is updated Monday-Friday at 5 pm. For questions or more information about COVID-19, please call Three Rivers at 402-727-5396, email info@3rphd.org or visit www.threeriverspublichealth.org
