City News Update: Business Growth in Fremont

FREMONT – Downtown Fremont looks especially beautiful for the holidays. On Monday, City Administrator Brian Newton had special compliments for the Downtown Business Improvement District (known as B-I-D) and for Downtown Fremont:

 
Business growth in and around Fremont continues. Among the signs is the new application for use of local sales tax funds (a State Law Referred to as “LB-840”) to support the growth and expansion of a long-time Fremont business. Two citizen advisory committees this week are reviewing an application from Fabrication Holdings, which does business as Elemental Fabrication and Machine, (a business which Began in Fremont back in 1964 as Pete’s Custom Metals). The business plans to move from Railroad Street to Business Park Drive. They are asking the City to approve a forgivable LB-840 loan of $200,000, if conditions are met. Brian Newton addressed their application:
