FREMONT – Here’s a look at local sports with Rich Ray:
Midland University’s women’s basketball team extended the winning streak to four games after an 87-76 rout of Doane University in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) action on Wednesday night. Midland improves to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the GPAC while Doane falls to 3-4 on the year and 1-3 in the league.
Midland University’s men took to the hardwood in Crete, Nebraska on Wednesday night as they faced Doane University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) matchup. The Warriors fell 68-64 to the Tigers. Midland falls to 2-6 overall and 1-5 in the GPAC while Doane picks up their first conference win and improves to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the GPAC.
Nebraska men’s basketball forward Derrick Walker had his 16-game NCAA suspension reduced to 14 games because of the COVID-shortened season. Nebraska is scheduled to play Maryland in its 15th game of the year.
