FREMONT – WholeStone Farms presented Fremont Area United Way (FAUW) a check on Wednesday, November 4th, made up of $75,000 worth of charitable donations from WholeStone Farms employees that the company matched to give a total of $150,000 to FAUW.
Executive Director for the FAUW, Christy Fiala met some of WholeStone Farms’ employees during the presentation and shared insight into things the FAUW is doing to help out in the community and what this check will be able to provide in that continued effort.
According to the press release from WholeStone Farms, the contribution will “make a deep and lasting impact” in the community.
Zach Swanson, United Way campaign chair for Wholestone Farms, said WholeStone employees’ continued awareness of the good works of the FAUW in the community is the reason why the company can achieve greater charitable contributions each year.
“I think last year with the flood and everything, we’ve kind of seen an uptick in donations just with knowing that the United Way has been front-and-center with helping people through that situation, and this year being front-and-center in helping people with aid through the COVID pandemic and everything else that’s going on.”
He continued saying,
“Our community here at work knows that the United Way is doing a lot of really great things in the community, so that really helps out. We’ve really focused on some of the things that the United Way has always done in the community too with helping out some of the local agencies and knowing that the money does go back to the community,” he said. “And a lot of people here do know somebody who’s been affected by the United Way, so I think that’ll continue to happen.”
