FREMONT – Last weekend, Bob Flittie did some driving around Fremont and talked with Brian Newton, City Administrator, about what he observed.
Bob noticed there were still tags on some of the properties which had been damaged in last year’s flooding in south Fremont. Brian Newton provided a brief review of the color designations for the tags:
Bob wondered especially about the YELLOW tags: they mean what?
On a related note, Bob recalled the State program which many had hoped would provide funds to help elevate flood-damaged properties above the flood levels. Brian Newton said it was a hard program to qualify for:
He added that most people who had been interested simply dropped out:
Newton added that the City is working with the Army Corps of Engineers on a similar program, but that may be months away:
