City News This Week With Bob Flittie & Brian Newton: November 2nd

FREMONT – Two high profile repair projects were among the topics covered during Monday’s city news update with KHUB’s Bob Flittie and Fremont’s City Administrator, Brian Newton.
The first project discussed was the newly remodeled City Auditorium. More than 60 new windows were installed at the auditorium, which should soon have the finishing touches to the total renovation & repair completed. The project had been met with considerable delay when the new windows were stuck on back-order. In a related turn, the glasswork for the new elevator on the west side of City Hall (Municipal Building) is now also back-ordered:

 
Speaking of glass, two tons of broken glass was recently hauled away from Fremont, headed for recycling by Ripple Glass. Brian Newton explains:

 
The deposit site for on-going broken glass collection is along South Broad at the Tree Dump site and is open Saturdays, 8:00am til noon.
 
Another high profile repair, work on repairing the levee in southern parts of Fremont, is on going. This levee protects both the City of Fremont and Village of Inglewood. Work will continue this week. Administrator Brian Newton explains the work in progress:
