FREMONT – The Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC) is co-hosting a Diversity and Inclusion Forum with Better Together – Greater Fremont and invites local residents, business owners, and stakeholders to participate. This event is expanding upon the work GFDC has done with the Multicultural Diversity and Inclusion Council.
The event will be available on Facebook Live and Zoom.
Date & Time:
- October 29
- 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
“Multiculturalism makes for a richer quality of life. In addition, there are significant economic benefits to embracing diversity as a strength,” said Garry Clark, President/CEO of the Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC).
Employers like WholeStone Farms echoed these sentiments saying, “We welcome diversity in our workplace and learn so much from each and every professional working in our building. We are able to thrive in a welcoming environment with employees who truly care about each other,” said Nichole Owsley, External Affairs & Member Relations Manager for WholeStone Farms.
GFDC believes that to get to a place where Fremont is benefiting the most from diversity and inclusion, the community must come together to share ideas and work together to find solutions to challenges. GFDC promotes the Diversity and Inclusion Forum as a safe place where thoughts, ideas, and best practices can be shared for that common goal.
There is a questionnaire that GFDC invites everyone to fill out ahead of the forum that will help gather insight into ways businesses and industry leaders can help promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.
Some of the topics being covered in the forum include:
-
- Diversity
- Inclusion
- Race, Gender, & Sexuality
- Cultural Differences
- Faith
