Local Sports Today with Rich Ray – October 22

FREMONT – Here’s a look at what’s happening in the world of local sports today:

Last night in GPAC soccer at Heedum Field, in Fremont, Midland hosted Doane.  In women’s action, the two schools played to a scoreless tie.  In men’s action, Midland won 2-1 in overtime. Mario Bueso scored the game-winner 27 seconds into the overtime period.  The Warrior women are 2-2-1 on the season, while the men are 3-1 on the year.

Turning to Husker football, as the team prepares for its first 2020 kickoff in Ohio this Saturday, you can get a sneak peek at the team’s readiness at our Husker Luncheon! This week’s luncheon will be held at the Fremont Opera House – doors open at 11, and Husker legend Johnny Rodgers will open the program at 11:45am; Sean Callahan starts his Husker analysis at 12.
