FREMONT – Here’s a look at last night’s scores in softball, tennis, volleyball and golf from our local high school teams.
Softball
The Fremont High softball team defeated Lincoln Pius X, in both games of a Heartland Athletic Conference doubleheader, 4-2 and 9-5 and Chaplain Field in Fremont, Tuesday night. Ella Cooper was the winning pitcher in both games. In game two, Alexis Chapman and Makenzi Kinning both hit three-run homeruns for the Tigers. Lincoln Pius X is 4-13 on the season and plays at the Hastings Invite, Saturday. Fremont is 9-9 and plays Lincoln Southeast, in a HAC doubleheader, tomorrow at the Bair Complex, in Lincoln.
In another softball match up last night, Elkhorn defeated Blair, 8-0. In high school volleyball, Elkhorn North def. Blair, 25-13, 25-9, 25-15 (3-0).
Tennis
The Fremont High boys tennis team dropped a dual to Millard South, 5-4, yesterday at the Fremont High tennis courts. The Tigers did earn wins at #1, 2 and 3 singles with Alex Bigsby, Shane Miller and Cameron Indra and at #3 doubles with Bigsby and Miller.
Volleyball
In high school volleyball last night, Fremont defeated Lincoln High three sets to two: 22-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-23, 15-12.
The Bergan volleyball team picked up a three sets to none victory over BRLD at Lyons-Decatur Northeast High School, last night, 25-15, 25-17, 25-18. Lauren Baker had 11 kills and four blocks. Rebecca Baker had 24 set assists and Summer Bojanski had 17 digs. Bergan is 10-3 on the season and host DC West, tomorrow night at 7:00.
Golf
The Archbishop Bergan girls golf team hosted Cedar Bluffs in a dual at Valley View Golf Course, yesterday. Bergan shot a 231. Jocelyn Kumm led the Knights with a 48. The Wildcats’ Jonnie Mahrt shot a 55.
