Marvin D. “Butch” Kemp, 79, of Fremont, NE, passed away September 14, 2020, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Marvin was born August 26, 1941, in Gordon, NE, to Francis and Doris (Haller) Kemp.  Marvin served in the U.S. Air Force from October 10, 1958 until October 8, 1962.  On May 1, 1965, Marvin married Connie Pope in Omaha.  They resided in Omaha until moving into Fremont in 2005. Marvin spent many years working as a foreman for Vickers.  He also worked at Sears in Omaha and Fremont for over 40 years.
Marvin was a member of First Congregational Church UCC in Fremont and enjoyed playing in the ukulele group.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time fishing.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Connie of Fremont; daughters, Denise (John) Morton of Fremont, Vicki (Mark) Paulson of Omaha, and Nancy (Eric) Thompson of Omaha; 8 grandchildren, Brian Williams, Shane Williams, Nicole (A.J.) Rolon, Justin Morton, Tyler Morton, Jessica Thompson, Katie Morton, and Ella Thompson; 1 great grandchild, Alaina Rolon; brothers- in- law, Leslie Pope of Fremont, and Tom (Carolyn) Pope of South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Beverly Schrad, Mitzi Ellis, and Marlene Greco.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 18, 2020, at First Congregational U.C.C Church in Fremont with Larry Jirsak officiating. Memorial visitation with family receiving friends will be from 6PM until 8PM, Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel.  Burial with military honors will be 11 AM, Monday, September 21, 2020, at Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha.
