Husker Grad Creates Bowling Program: “Black Girls Can Bowl 2”

LINCOLN – Former Husker bowler Gazmine Mason‘s initiative earned national exposure on Tuesday (Aug. 18), as she was featured on Good Morning America.
Mason, a three-time All-American as a Husker, started Black Girls Can Bowl 2, a platform to create opportunities for women bowlers of color, and talked about her experience on being on the pro tour with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

Mason helped the Huskers to an NCAA title in 2015 and runner-up finishes in 2014, 2016 and 2017. She was named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament team in both 2016 and 2017. Off the lanes, she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and was a two-time Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award. She was also active in the community, earning a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in each of her years at Nebraska.
