FPS Gives Summer Recap and Fall Semester Update

FREMONT- Fremont Public Schools officials were on the KHUB morning show, August 19, 2020, to discuss the success of the summer feeding program, a Disaster Response Grant the school received, and an update on planning for fall sports.
Director of Food Services, Rowan Lang, told KHUB about the summer feeding program provided to students.

Lang also provided insight into new protocols and safety measures FPS is implementing for the food program during the school year.

FPS Administrator, Scott Jensen, talked about the immense amount of effort made by staff involved in the food programs.

FPS received a Disaster Response Grant that is being distributed through the ESU. Joel Kerkman, Director of Special Education, discussed what the grant will be used for.

Kerkman also shared that special education teachers put in the extra time and effort this summer to be prepared for the school year.

Scott Anderson, the FPS High School Activities Director, stated that so far, things have been running smoothly for practices and students are responding well to the changes.

Anderson said they have made a few changes to the FHS football and volleyball teams. He also provided an answer to questions about audience requirements during games.
