FREMONT – The Fremont Police Department responded to two calls involving the welfare of children yesterday, making one citation and one arrest in the unrelated incidents.
Tuesday morning around 11AM, police received a call reporting a toddler wandering alone in the 1400 block of west 10th street. Police arrived and discovered a two year old child unattended. Police were able to locate the individual responsible for the child, and a 25 year old person was cited on suspicion of child abuse/neglect.
About twelve hours later, at 10:45PM, Fremont Police responded to a violent domestic disturbance on Schuyler Avenue. After a brief investigation, police arrested Frank S. Esteban-Martinez, 34, of Fremont on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault, Child Abuse/Neglect and animal cruelty as a result.
