FREMONT – The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team tried to complete the sweep of Gretna in the Fremont/Gretna series on Saturday night at Nick Novak Field, but came up one run short, falling 4-3.
With the loss, Fremont still leads the series, two games to one and will try to clinch the series tomorrow night at Gretna at 6:30pm.
The First State Juniors trail Gretna two games to one in their best-of-five series and are back in action, hosting Gretna at 6:30, tonight at Nick Novak Field.
The First State Reserve Legion is competing in the Nebraska Reserve Baseball League State Tournament and are battling back through the loser’s bracket. First State plays Omaha Central at 6:00 tonight at Brown Park, in Omaha.
