FSB Loses Game 1 to Columbus; Game 2 Rained Out

COLUMBUS – The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team began the 2020 season last night in a scheduled doubleheader at Columbus.  Columbus won game one 5-2 before the second game was rained out.
Columbus scored two runs in the first and three in the second, before First State plated a run in the fourth and the final tally in the seventh.  Conner Dush picked up the win for Columbus, while First State’s Jack Cooper suffered the loss.  Colin Flyr was 2-for-3 for Columbus with two singles and a run scored.  Columbus is 1-0 while First State is 0-1.  The First State Seniors return to action Tuesday, at Sherman Field, in Lincoln, versus Lincoln High.
The Legion Reserves begin their season tonight, playing at Omaha Gross at 6:30pm.
The FSB Juniors Baseball team will begin its season tomorrow, hosting Creighton Prep in a doubleheader at 1pm, at the Schilke Complex.

The Dodge County Baseball League also begins their season on Sunday.  West Point plays at Arlington at 12 noon.  Dodge plays Leigh/Schuyler, in Schuyler at 2pm.  Scribner plays at Wahoo at 6pm and North Bend plays at Blair at 1pm.
