FREMONT – The Dodge County Treasurer’s office will reopen to public, walk-in business on Wednesday this week with some modifications in place.
Beginning Wednesday, June 10th, appointments are no longer required and office hours remain 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. “We anticipate a lot of people as we transition back to our normal service,” said Gail Bargstadt, Dodge County Treasurer. “We will not be able to have all of our windows open at the same time,” to ensure appropriate distance between employees in the office. The lobby area will be also hold a limited number of people to ensure safe distance between patrons. “We ask that the public be patient and be prepared to wait,” said Bargstadt. “We greatly appreciate the cooperation and patience we have received during this very unusual time.”
The use of online services, renewal by mail and the use of the Treasurer’s drop box are still encouraged whenever possible.
Health authorities from the CDC to local health departments continue to encourage anyone going to an indoor, public place to wear a face covering to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Non-medical masks should be worn while in public, even by people who feel healthy, because of the long incubation period of COVID-19 before the onset of symptoms. The spread of COVID-19 can be attributed in large part to asymptomatic carriers – wearing a mask can help protect those around you in the event you are such a carrier.
