Fremont’s Salvation Army Hosting A Drive-Thru Food Drive

FREMONT- The Fremont Salvation Army is critically low on supplies for those most in need, so Tuesday, May 12th, the Fremont Salvation Army is partnering with Fremont’s local radio station, and Hyvee to host a Drive-Thru Food Drive!
“Our food pantry got hit especially hard in March. We saw more than twice the normal amount of families come in than usual…we normally see around 30-35 families a month, and in March it was somewhere around 70 families,” said Captain Steven Hansen. “Without our usual food drive in April, we are running extremely low on many items; especially compared to this time last year.”
Here’s what you need to know:
There will be a Salvation Army van parked outside of the local Fremont Hyvee on the east side entrance from 9 am to 4 pm for anyone to be able to drop off a donation. KHUB and KFMT will be there live from 11 am – 1 pm to give out special prizes to those who donate!
The Fremont Salvation Army desperately needs pasta, peanut butter, boxed mac n cheese, boxed dinners like Hamburger Helper, and cereal to share with those who rely on their food pantry for their daily nutrition.
The Salvation Army Kettle will also be available in the Hyvee lobby store entrance for people to donate.
Can’t make it, but want to make a donation?
You can drop off donations at the Salvation Army office at 707 North I Street, Fremont, NE 68025 or you can also give online! Go to SAFremont.org
