
FREMONT – While the City of Fremont Municipal Building remains open at this time, there are other ways to pay your utility bills that may make it easier to comply with the social distancing requirements in effect throughout the area.
Customers are urged to pay utility bills online through Click-2-Gov, mail, the drive-thru, and the drop box on the north side of the Municipal Building at 400 East Military Avenue. The Utility drive-thru is open for paying bills and other Utility business. Two lanes are open, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Utility payments can be made online at http://www.fremontne.gov/543/Utility-City-Online. You can use this service to make one time payments. There is no charge to pay online.
Sign up for automatic utility bill payment by contacting Customer Service at 402.727.2600 or by downloading the form from the City’s website.
If you must come into the Department of Utilities office, you will be required to keep six feet between yourself and other people. No more than 10 persons will be allowed in one room. Areas are marked on the floor to designate the spacing requirements. Customers may have to wait outside the building in order to comply with this mandate.
The City will not be shutting off utilities for non-payment at this time. Customers are encouraged to continue making regular monthly payments, when at all possible; all charges will remain the financial responsibility of the customer. Disconnect notices for past due accounts still will be mailed as reminders of unpaid balances. Late payment fees on utility bills will be waived during this time.
Customers needing to apply for permits or applications for development plans are urged to utilize the City’s online services at http://www.fremontne.gov/68/Licenses-Misc-Permits.
Reduce the spread of COVID-19:
- Utilize online or mail services whenever possible.
- Do not enter a facility if you are feeling ill or may have been exposed to COVID-19.
- Stay home unless you’re out on an essential errand or to perform essential work.
- Wash your hands frequently.
