LINCOLN – Another State meet has been cancelled; this time, it’s YMCA State Swimmers who will have to compete another day.
Due to the rise in cases of COVID-19 in the State of Nebraska, and at the advice of local health officials, the decision has been made to cancel the YMCA State Swim Meet which was to be held Saturday, March 14 at Lincoln Southeast High School.
“We factored in the safety of all participants, spectators, officials and staff,” said the Meet Director in a statement to participants and parents. “As you know, The YMCA National Championship Meet has been canceled, and on Friday they will be discussing whether Regionals in Iowa will be held.”
The NSAA State Basketball Tournament is under modified attendee rules, and many other banquets & events face cancellation or postponement over the coming days.
