PINEVILLE, La. — Midland University wrapped up its weekend series in Louisiana with a doubleheader against LSU Alexandria and Louisiana Christian on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors fell in both games, as late rallies by their opponents led to a 10-3 loss in game one and a 3-2 loss in game two.
GAME ONE: LSU Alexandria 10, Midland 3
The Generals got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back singles and a flyout to score two runs, taking a 2-0 lead.
After two quiet innings from both teams, LSU Alexandria added another run in the bottom of the fourth with a double and a single to make it 3-0.
Hunter Spencer started the Warriors’ fifth inning with a single through the right side, then stole second to move into scoring position. Anthony Martinez pinch-hit and delivered a single through the right side to bring home Spencer. Brody Boyle followed with a two-run home run to tie the game, 3-3.
LSU Alexandria responded in the bottom of the fifth, recording four hits and scoring five runs to take an 8-3 lead.
The Generals tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 10-3 and closed out the game, holding the Warriors scoreless the rest of the way.

GAME TWO
The Warriors opened the first inning with back-to-back singles by Brody Boyle and Hunter Spencer. A groundout advanced Boyle to third, and Owen Glover singled to shortstop to bring him home. Glover later stole second, and a single by Cooper Benecke scored Glover to give Midland a 2-0 lead.
Louisiana Christian got on the board in the bottom of the first with two hits to score a run.
The Wildcats tied the game in the bottom of the second after drawing a walk, advancing on a sacrifice bunt and a wild pitch, and scoring on a groundout to make it 2-2.
Louisiana Christian took the lead in the bottom of the third with a triple followed by a groundout to score, making it 3-2.
The remainder of the game was scoreless for both teams, as Louisiana Christian held on for the 3-2 win.

Midland (1-7) will travel to Madison, South Dakota, to face Dakota State University (3-4) in a four-game nonconference series. The teams are scheduled to play Friday at 1 and 4 p.m. and Saturday at noon and 3 p.m.
