The Nebraska Library Commission recently awarded $30,000 in grants for Excellence in Youth service.
Of the grants awarded to 31 Nebraska libraries, several addressed the need for educational programs, summer reading programing, and materials like LEGO®, STEAM, and other activities to encourage creativity in young people. Keene Memorial Library in Fremont was one of the award recipients. Also receiving grants from the area were the Clarkson Public Library, the Lied Tekamah Public Library and the Yutan Public Library.

- Children’s Theater Program
- Summer Reading programs
- Nebraska Wildlife Rehab Center Program
- Gaming & Teen Engagement Hub
- Makerspace items for children/youth
- After School Activity Kits
