
Sharon Ruth Richter, 77, of Fremont passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 25, 1948 in Omaha to Emerson and Ruth (Leber) Powell.
She lived most of her life in Fremont. Sharon married Jeffrey Richter on December 6, 1980 at First United Methodist Church in Fremont. She worked as a secretary at Hormel until she raised her boys and then she was a secretary at Christensen Lumber in Fremont until her retirement.
Sharon was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont and enjoyed trips with her kids and grandkids to Estes Park, Colorado. She also liked reading and watching British Mysteries. Sharon enjoyed watching her grandsons play basketball and soccer.
Survived by her husband, Jeff Richter of Fremont; sons, Jason (Bobbi) Richter of Bennington and Darren Richter (Beth Chingren) of Elkhorn; brother, Brad (Marcia) Katz of Fremont; stepbrothers, George (Sally) Katz and Douglas Katz all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two grandsons, Kaleb and Greyson Richter.
Preceded In death by her parents, Emerson Powell and Ruth and John Katz; brother, Michael Katz; brother-in-law Daniel Richter and sister-in-law, Gloria Richter.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Fremont. The Rev. Tony Dawson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday also at the church.
Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
