Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen, left, talks with Dostofarm CEO and managing partner Thomas Logemann during Wednesday morning’s event in Fremont.

Dostofarm, a German-based company, officially announced its expansion into the United States with a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning in the western part of Fremont.

Gov. Jim Pillen, company leaders, state and city officials gathered at the facility site that is located just east of the Royal Canin plant.

The new facility will represent a significant investment in the region. Dostofarm is a company specializing in natural feed supplements for livestock and pets. It plans to use the site to expand production capacity to better serve North American markets.

Thomas Logemann, CEO and managing partner of Dostofarm, emphasized to the crowd the company’s commitment to sustainable agriculture.

“It is an honor to stand here on such an important day for our company, but also the City of Fremont,” he said. “For more than 25 years, Dostofarm has been dedicated to developing natural science-backed solutions that support healthier animals and profitable, efficient livestock production. Producers across the world trust in our essential oil-based solutions because they combine innovation with science with reliability and consistency.”

Officials break ground on the facility Wednesday.

Logemann said the company is pleased to be part of the Fremont business community.

“With this new facility here, we’re proud to bring our commitment even closer to our partners here in the United States,” he said. “As we grow, so will our presence in this community. We look forward to creating new jobs, new partnerships and new opportunities in the years ahead.”

Gov Pillen noted that the international investment can only strengthen Nebraska’s agricultural sector.

“We’re really grateful you chose Nebraska,” he said. “Doing trade missions as your governor is an extraordinary privilege. Sometimes it is hard to tell if you are making a difference so I love selling Nebraska beef wherever we go, but this was really awesome.”

Pillen said it was almost 18 months ago that talks with Dostofarm began.

“We’re so thrilled you are here,” the governor said. “You can bet the farm on it that you won’t regret it.”

Ironhide Construction is set to begin work on the facility immediately. Additional details and timeline operations will be announced in the upcoming months.
