
Structural Component Systems, one of Fremont’s largest employers is celebrating Employee Ownership Month, recognizing the success and shared prosperity that its employee-owners have built together.
The annual observance highlights the positive impacts of employee ownership on companies, workers, and communities.
Earlier this week, Diane Mallette, Director of Human Resources, and Brian Malone, Senior Commodities Buyer, participated in a proclamation signing at the state capitol where Governor Jim Pillen recognized October as Employee Ownership Month in Nebraska.
“As an employee-owned company, our success is a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work of every single team member,” Mallette said. “This month, we celebrate not only our business achievements but also the powerful culture of collaboration and accountability that comes from thinking and acting like owners”.
Since transitioning to a 100% employee-owned model last year, SCS has continued employee growth, growing over 50 positions in 2025 and over 400 employee-owners. The company’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) has provided a meaningful way for employees to build wealth and share in the company’s financial success. In addition, ESOP companies have proved to be more profitable and focused greater on serving their customers.
