The Fremont High School football rivalry with Columbus High will have a twist in 2024.
FHS Activities Director Scott Anderson confirmed to Walnut Media Thursday afternoon that the Tigers will meet the Discoverers on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Originally the game was scheduled for Sept. 20 in Fremont, but it was switched to University of Nebraska’s stadium. The Huskers are slated to host Illinois at 7 p.m. Sept. 20.
This will not be the first time the Tigers have played at Memorial Stadium. They defeated Lincoln Northeast 27-21 as part of a prep doubleheader in 2017. Lincoln Southwest blanked North Platte 34-0 in the other game.
The Discoverers defeated the Tigers 31-7 last year. The 2024 game is scheduled for a noon kickoff.
