Carolyn A. Moenning, 72, of Ames passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at CHI Health Heart Hospital in Lincoln. She was born Jan. 7, 1951, in Scribner to Edgar and Ardyce (Legband) Dames.

Carolyn grew up at rural Scribner and graduated from Scribner High School in 1969. She received her lab technician degree from University Hospital in Omaha. She married Robert Moenning on May 19, 1974 at Scribner. After marriage they lived near Scribner, then Snyder, Stanton, Norfolk and Linwood and have lived at Ames since 2010.

She worked as a lab technician at hospitals in West Point, Fremont, and a clinic in Norfolk. For the last 20 years she has kept the books for Schieffer Signs in Columbus.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Bob of Ames, NE; brother, Randy (Sandy) Dames of Scribner; sisters, Diane Hibbs of Texas, Linda (Dan) Dirkschneider of Elkhorn and Janice (Dave) Pruss of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Mike Lewis will officiate. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
