In connection with HIV Testing Day, the Three Rivers Public Health Department is conducting an HIV testing clinic from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday (June 27) at the Fremont office, 2400 N. Lincoln Ave.
A $20 gift card will be given to those tested and no appointment is needed.
The theme for 2023 is “Take the Test & Take the Next Step.” It emphasizes that knowing your HIV status gives you the power to take control of your health, regardless of the test result.
An estimated 1.2 million people in the United States have HIV, but one in seven people with HIV do not know they have it. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.
HIV testing is free, easy, fast, and confidential.
