EDMOND, Okla. – In their final game of the weekend, Midland University took on No. 8 University of Central Oklahoma at the Battle at the Edge. It was the second meeting between the teams, who began the year against each other. Sunday’s result mirrored the ones from October with the Bronchos winning 4-0.

After a scoreless opening period, UCO took advantage of a carryover penalty into the second. They scored 19 seconds after coming out of the intermission. With just under four minutes left in the period, Midland went on the power play but a misplay of the puck led to a shorthanded goal for the home team.

In the third, Midland had a few chances to get back into the contest with UCO committing three penalties to the Warriors’ one. The Bronchos’ defense stood strong, allowing just eight shots on net.

Offensively, UCO netted two goals in the first seven minutes of the third and skated to the 4-0 shutout win.

Midland (3-17) will look to get back on track next weekend as they return to conference play. The Warriors will host Northern Illinois (2-20) on Friday and Saturday at Sidner Ice Arena. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. in Fremont, Nebraska both days.
