Supervisors seek those interested in township boards

Dodge County Clerk Fred Mytty said that no countable votes occurred in the recent election for township officials in the Cuming, Nickerson, Pebble and Pleasant Valley Townships.

As of 2018, state law requires the only valid write-in votes to be counted are those of voters who field a notarized “write-in affidavit” by the second Friday before an election. In the four townships, three vacancies will exist on their respective boards as of Jan. 5.

When two or more vacancies occur, the Dodge County Board of Supervisors make the appointments to fill the four-year terms. Mytty said the board wants to make this as easy as possible.

Anyone wishing to become appointed in any of the four townships should call the clerk’s office at 402-727-2767 or email clerk@dodgecountyne.gov or come to the county clerk’s office by Dec. 9.
