Jeff L. Hermanson, 45, of Cedar Bluffs passed away June 22, 2022, at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo. He was born on Sept. 6, 1976, in Wahoo to Terry and Lorie (Winkelman) Hermanson.
Jeff was a Cedar Bluffs High School graduate and worked at the Saunders County Jail. Jeff married Cindi Townsend on April 29, 2000. He graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy in 2001 and worked part-time until becoming full-time in 2007 with the Saunders County Sheriff’s Department. He was a K-9 handler and worked with Rudy and Mac.
Jeff was a member of the Cedar Bluffs Volunteer Fire Department and Ducks Unlimited, Wahoo and Fremont Chapters. He enjoyed camping at Calamus, fishing, and would have loved to duck hunt every day.
He is survived by his wife, Cindi; sons, Brayden and Carter of Cedar Bluffs; parents, Terry and Lorie Hermanson; brother, Matt Hermanson; sister, Theresa (Parker) Stenger; grandparent, Vergie Winkelman; parents-in-law, Tom and Sue Townsend; brothers-in-law, Kevin and Dan Townsend; his duck hunting boys; best of friends, Cody and Annie Kavan; and many other good friends he made over the years.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gaylen and Millie Hermanson; uncle, Chris Winkelman; Grandpa, Richard G. Winkelman; and his K-9 partner, Rudy.
The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Cedar Bluffs City Auditorium. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the auditorium. Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. Burial will be at Pohocco Cemetery at a later date.
