Recap for June 13th loss against the North Platte Plainsmen 11-6

Fremont, NE- The Moo take their 6th loss of the season in a tough 11-6 loss to the North Platte Plainsmen and move to 8-6 on the season. North Platte moves to 10-7 on the season and moves into 2nd place in the Nebraskaland Division.

The Moo as always got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st with 2 RBI singles first by Nico Azpilcueta that scored Zane Skansi before Jason Axelberg scored Azpilcueta to make it 2-0. North Platte came back in the top of the 4th tying the game back up at 2 after a 2-RBI single by C Nate Windle scored INF’s Angel De La Cruz and Kade Wood.

Fremont would take back the lead in the 5th on an Axelberg 3-run bomb to left field scored Azpilcueta and Derian Morphew to take a 5-2 lead before the Plainsmen cut back the lead to 1 in the top of the 6th on an RBI single and RBI double. It would be the top of the 8th where the game got away from the Moo and North Platte took a commanding 4-run lead scoring 5 runs off 3 separate RBI singles and a Bases-loaded walk.

Trey Nichols would bring Fremont one run closer with a solo HR to left field which would be all that the Moo could manage before North Platte scored two more in the top of the 9th to take the game 11-6. Will Coe got the win for the Plainsmen going 3 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits striking out 1 while Bobby Brown took the loss for the Moo going 2 innings allowing 7 runs on 5 hits and striking out 2 in the process.

The Moo will play tomorrow night again against the Plainsmen in the 2nd game of a 3-game stretch at 7:05 PM CST for Community Highlight Night which is Blair Night. As always keep up with the game by listening to Big Dog Country Radio 98.9 FM 1340 AM and fremontmoo.com.
